Tuesday, 16th February 2021
On Tuesday, 16th February 2021, we will be celebrating Shikshapatri Jayanti at Shree Swaminarayan Temple (Mandir) Perth.
Shikshapatri is a sacred book of ethics consisting of two hundred and twelve verses, written in Sanskrit by Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan in Vadtal on February 11, 1826.
The Shikshapatri is a key scripture to all followers of Shree Swaminarayan Sampraday and is considered the basis of the sect, providing detailed instructions on how to live a spiritually uplifting life.
Shree Swaminarayan Bhagwan instructed Nityanand Swami to translate Shikshapatri from Sanskrit into Gujarati. It has since been translated numerous times into other languages.
Please join us to celebrate this occasion. All devotees who would like Ghanshyam Maharaj to bless their personal Shikshapatri during the poojan are requested to bring on the day their Shikshapatri.
Detailed program is shown below:
|6:00pm - 6:30pm||Aarti & Nitya Niyam and Thal|
|6:30pm - 8:00pm||Shikshapatri Vanchan and Poojan|
|8:00pm - 8:05pm||Shikshapatri Aarti|
|8:05pm - 8:45pm||Kirtan, Dhun and Chesta|
To celebrate our 195th Shikshapatri Jayanti we would like to complete 195 paths of Shikshapatri by 15th Feb 2021. You can start anytime but should try and complete the number of paths you have chosen to do by 15th Feb.
Maharaj took the time to write this auspicious scripture which summarises so many shashtras into one. A scripture that is useful not only spiritually but one that also shows us how we could live a comfortable material life.
The Shikshapatri is the nectar of all Scriptures and contains the ethical code of conduct for all classes of devotees.
Concluding the Shikshapatri Maharaj wrote “ The Shikshapatri is my verbal swarup” Therefore it's not just an ordinary scripture but it is Maharaj Himself. This invaluable scripture is not limited to be useful to Swaminarayan satsangis but to the whole of mankind.
Let us try and make Maharaj's efforts count and please Him for giving us such an auspicious gift by being involved in the completion of 195 paths.
Please submit the number of paths using the link below.
