The first ever UN-approved International Day of Yoga is fast approaching where millions of people worldwide will be participating.
Lord Swaminarayan during His forest expedition practiced Yoga. The basic idea of yoga is to unite the atma (individual, which means our soul) with the paramatma (Lord Swaminarayan).
We encourage you to come and join us in this historic moment to learn and practice Yoga to unite our soul with Lord Swaminarayan.

Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi
Last year, the UN declared June 21st as International Yoga Day, with the support of 170 nations, after Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modiji’s clarion call to the world community to celebrate Indian yoga at the international level in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2014.
In his speech at UN General Assembly he also stated “Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. Yoga embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature”.
In the true spirit of “Yoga” – the Union, world leaders came together to support this initiative & with 175 co-sponsor nations this initiative had the “highest number of co-sponsors ever for any UNGA Resolution of such nature”. 21st June was declared as the International Yoga Day by the United Nations General Assembly on 11th December 2014. 21st June “One of the two solstices, is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and has special significance in many parts of the world.
